There are events in your life where people have caused you pain. Sometimes you feel you can never forgive them or overcome the pain they caused. Other times you may  feel you have put it behind you. In either case you are still dealing with it and it affects your life.

Forgiveness has nothing to do with forgetting. It has everything to do with freeing you from  the pain that was inflicted on you and you feeling powerless.

Forgiveness is choosing to forgive and to have compassion for the people with whom you are in conflict.

It does not mean that you deny the other person’s responsibility for what they did to you and it does not minimize it.  Forgiveness is not something you do for others, you do it for yourself, and it brings you to a place of peace, helps you heal yourself and empowers you.
